PADI® Underwater Photography Specialty Course

With your camera, you have captured the angelfish. Moreover, you have captured something more elusive - time.

You can look at these pictures in a day, a week, a decade and relive this moment; show them to your friends, and they can glimpse something you experienced. Photography creates memories that you can share.

But photography is dynamic; it can be more than a simple recording of something. It can be art that goes beyond letting others see what you saw, so they feel what you felt. Photos can fill us with awe, make us laugh or motivate us to act.

You can pursue underwater photography as an end in itself, or as a specialty that goes with almost every other diving activity. If you love wreck diving, you'll love pictures of the wreck you have dived. If you are interested in the aquatic environment, you will want photos of the creatures you have seen. Pictures of you and your friends before, during and after the dive always add to the fun.

This course has been developed so that even if you have little or no familiarity with photography, by the end of the course you'll be able to apply basic photography principles and equipment to get the types of underwater pictures you want.
