3. Split Blade - The split blade deflects with the slightest kick to form a pair of wings that slice through the water with reduced drag, propelling you forward.
4. High Surface Ratio Blade - Large surface area blade improves pivoting, turning and alternate kicking styles.
5. Hinge Points - Thin, yet strong and highly flexible hinges points between the semi-rigid battens cause the blade to react quickly and efficiently to the slightest kick.

8. Spring Straps!  Special shaped regions allow the spring to stretch more easily for a more comfortable fit. They are fitted to Atomics Aquatics patented quick release buckle system that permits simple, one handed removal or attachment. These new straps will also retrofit any existing Atomic Aquatics open heel Split Fins by simply snapping them on in place of the old straps. A large, rubber heel pad with oversized finger grip adds comfort and makes slipping them on and off quick and easy.

How to use the SplitFins ®

Don't worry about how easy the SplitFins ® are to kick. There is nothing wrong; you're probably already going just as fast as you did with your old fins. Although they work with a variety of kicking styles, you should adapt to a smaller range, more frequent flutter kick for maximum performance. The smaller-range rapid flutter kick also keeps your legs within the slipstream of your body so that you punch a hole in the water that is only as big as your shoulders and your tank. Remember, less drag means more speed and less effort.

The SplitFins ® are designed to produce maximum power with a smaller and more frequent flutter kick. Paddle fins are not. The smaller the range and the greater the frequency, the greater the power and speed.
