Hello everybody, our friend, valued customer and fellow diver,
As I have been hinting, here is our latest update in form of our monthly flyer for end June and May 2008.
In spite of the ruckus that is going on within the country and the unpleasant raise in fuel and electricity rates, things have been going on rather well here in Scuba Dynamics.
Of course, the inevitable has happened and many dive resorts have raised their rates as they are dependent on fuel for their boats and diesel for their generators but the good news is that not all resorts have upped the rates, as we feared might happen.
Our trips have been running along with fairly good capacities, our diver training department is running at full steam and it is clear now that apart from putting on a bit of weight, poor Jeffrey has started to grow a small set of gills behind his ears apart from making some serious noises very similar to bubble soundsJ
Past, current and future PADI courses range from the entry level Open Water Diver course to the professional levels of Divemaster and Assistant Instructors course, all of which are on – going.
Poor Guru has been having a hard time in replenishing our stock on an (almost) daily basis as our retail department has been doing exceptionally well, with thanks to some of our generous suppliers who have agreed to lower their prices in view of the weaker USD and of course, to YOU, for your kind patronage.
Dash, our newest "recruit" is getting all excited with his upcoming Open Water Diver Course and just can't seem to wait to be certified and we wish him all the best in "Going Pro with PADI in 2008 while guru is happily "splashing" along in his swimming lessons:>)
Our current pride, HALCYON, is doing extremely well as this awesome range of dive equipment is so highly recognised by divers "in the know", that they are practically self selling and yes, we do have yet another shipment of this fine dive system on its way soon.
Of particular interest is the range of fine dive computers, SUUNTO. The distributor has lowered their prices and of course, sales of this already very popular brand of dive computers have sky rocketed in recent weeks and is expected to do so for the rest of the year.
Our website www.scubadynamics.com.my has been updated as best as we can but are having a hard time in keeping it fully updated as new products and offers seem to keep popping up ever so often but it is certainly worth a visit now.
In case you didn't know, I have been using our group "Diving with Scuba Dynamics of Malaysia" as a short cut to make impromptu announcements and if you are a Facebook user, may I suggest that you sign up there as well for such announcements.
Our (limited) range of underwater photography products have been attracting some new found interest and recently, the Canon Underwater Housing for the Canon G9 cameras have been one of more popular items along with the Ikelite and Sea & Sea Strobes (that are already featured on our website).
Silica Gel packs are in store again at surprisingly reasonable prices as are the lens adapters for the G9 housing to accommodate the Macro and Wide Angle lenses.
The two most important announcements in this flyer would probably be:
We congratulate Judy who participated in the earlier organised Mabul Photo Fiesta and won herself a 3mm Pinnacle Venture wetsuit as 1st prize winner. 2nd place goes to Judy's buddy, Michael, who wins an exclusive Pinnacle T Shirt with thanks going to Seamonkey Dive & Travel Sdn Bhd for generously sponsoring these prizes.
Judy and Mike, please give us a call to collect your winning vouchers whenever convenient.
Please note that Scuba Dynamics will be closed from Saturday, 5th June 2008 and will reopen as usual on Tuesday, 8th June.
I will be going on a short getaway to the very lovely Sipadan Water Village Resort from the 29th August to 3rd September to play around with my new underwater camera set-up and although this is a NON Scuba Dynamics or commercial trip, you are most welcomed to join us at this awesome and highly popular dive destination that is really convenient for us BUT do book early just in case Mr. Tony Fernandez of Air Asia decides to change his mind and increase the fuel surcharge as other airlines have done recently.
The other stuff that is considered a "must see", followed by "must have" are the Aqua Lung Mikron and APEKS regulators that are already on our shelves, including the sexy, pastel coloured Mikron set that is highly preferred by our ladies but please DO NOT forget the very sensible and very practical smaller back plate created by HALCYON as a "limited edition" production as this smaller back plate definitely fits our (Asian) torsos better than the full sized ones and is available in Aluminum or Stainless Steel.
In closing, I wish to remind you to sign up in our group on Facebook and please feel free to circulate this email to as many friends of yours and invite them to be included in our mailing list (that has grown tremendously in recent weeks).
Take care all, stay well, be happy, dive safe and most importantly dive Scuba Dynamics, Anywhere, Anytime, in Malaysia or the South East Asia region and beyond.
